At the time of the large-scale listing of autumn corn, there is no doubt that the price of corn starch is bound to follow the downward trend of cost prices. However, the recent trend of corn starch is exactly the opposite of market expectations. China corn starch prices continue to open up. According to the survey, as of November 6, 2017, the mainstream price of corn starch in China's Shandong and Hebei regions was 2,380-2,500 yuan / ton, up 30-150 yuan / ton from last week, and generally rose 100 yuan in Shandong. Tons; the mainstream price of corn starch market in Northeast China is 2200-2270 yuan / ton, up 50 yuan / ton from last week, a record high this year. Next is the corn starch corn syrup situation analysis in China:
Corn syrup processing
1.1 Corn starch instead of tapioca starch
Due to the tight supply, the price of tapioca starch has been increase continuously. As of November 8 in 2017, the price of imported tapioca starch in China is 3100-3180 yuan/ton (excluding tax), which is up 400-450 yuan/ton from the end of September. The price difference between starch and corn starch has been enlarged to about 800 yuan / ton. Due to the cost performance advantage of corn starch, some enterprises use corn starch instead of tapioca starch to increase the demand for corn starch, thus supporting the corn starch market.
From the potential of replacing tapioca starch, corn starch cannot completely replace tapioca starch. Compared to corn starch, tapioca starch can withstand long cooking times, maintains performance during food hot processing and freezing, and still has high viscosity and clear characteristics after complete dissolution. The alternative fields of tapioca starch and corn starch are mainly in the chemical and food fields. The downstream demand for corn starch accounts for 20% of the total demand for corn starch in the chemical papermaking and food fields, and the replacement space for corn starch and tapioca starch is relatively limited. It is estimated that corn starch can replace tapioca starch for about 1.5 million tons. DOING company as a professional cassava starch processing machine and the corn syrup equipment manufacture in China, continue to pay attentation to the corn starch, corn syrup and tapioca starch develop situation.

1.2 Corn starch syrup instead of white sugar
From the potential of replacing sugar, the main products of corn starch syrup include crystalline glucose, maltose syrup, fructose syrup and maltodextrin, although the same as starch syrup, but the main application areas of them are different. The ratio of corn syrup produced by corn starch is about 1:0.6. It is estimated that the maximum space for starch syrup growth is about 10%, and the consumption of white sugar in 2016 is 14.5 million tons. The tonnage of starch sugar instead of white sugar cannot be equal. If want to replace white sugar, corn syrup must achieve the same sweetness, different starch syrup sweetness is different, then simple and rough estimate of starch syrup demand is 1 million to 2 million tons. Based on this calculation, the maximum increase in the demand for corn starch is about 1.5 to 3 million tons.

2.1 Corn starch export of China
According to China Customs data, China's corn starch exports totaled 195,000 tons in January-September 2017, an increase of 117,000 tons from the same period last year, an increase of 150% over the same period of the previous year. In the same period of 2015, the export volume was 29,000 tons. At 47,000 tons, 76,000 tons in the same period of 2013, the 5-year average was 85,000 tons. The export of corn starch was significantly higher than that of previous years. It is now the highest since 2012 and the export volume of starch has increased significantly.

2.2 China starch syrup export
In China, due to the rebound in starch sugar prices and the sharp drop in international sugar prices, the growth rate of China's starch sugar exports in September 2017 has slowed down noticeably. In September, China exported 91,309 tons of starch sugar, down 12.74% year-on-year. However, from January to September 2017, China exported 408,100 tons of fructose, up 21.89% year-on-year; exported 516,600 tons of glucose, up 7.11% year-on-year; and exported 924,700 tons of corn starch sugar, up 13.18% year-on-year, so it is expected to 2017. The total export volume of glucose and fructose in China may be around 1.25 million tons. In 2017, the export volume of Chinese starch sugar increased significantly, and the corn starch market developed well.
Corn starch has always been the preferred raw material for the production of syrup, but recently, due to the low price of cassava and the good quality of tapioca starch, tapioca starch has attracted more and more attention as a raw material for syrup production. China has become one of the major importers of tapioca starch, but China's corn production capacity is large, so the corn syrup processing still will be the first choice in China starch syrup industrial production.
